YOU GOT TO MOVE - The Blind Boys of Alabama
This one is a haunting of a tune crafted originally in the Delta Blues style by Fred McDowell and Rev. Gary Davis. Though millions came to know it by The Rolling Stones. I have seen them do it live and I’ve seen the Blind Boys do it live….neither recorded version does it or them justice but they come close. So it’s a Spiritual Haunting of a tune for a Sunday from the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner. Peace y’all! I gotta move on to slumberland now….

LITTLE RED ROOSTER - Willie Dixon
Willie Dixon ~ Little Red Rooster
This be the man that wrote it — and contrary to what many said or thought at the time he was really glad that Mick /The Stones covered it. He pretended for a bit it was some kind of thing but the cheques were all cashed with a smile. I my somewhat biased opinion Mr. Willie Dixon was one the greatest songwriters ever to hale from America! Sadly I saw him play twice live — once in Chicago and then in Windsor and the last time he had lost a leg due to diabetes!
